Overview - Weimaraner
They were originally bred as hunting dogs, they could handle big game such as deer or hogs. Today, they are kept as great family dogs and companion. They are the typical "shadow" kind of dog, because they like to be within touching range of their owners. Their devotion toward their owners is so high that they must not left alone for a long time because they can get nervous.
Weimaraner training
Weimaraners are highly intelligent, but they are also independent thinkers. For this reason, it can be a real challange to train these dogs. You should be consistent and firm, but gentle. They do not respond well to anger, so patience is essential when training a Weimaraner. Training sessions should be fun, but short and you should end all sessions when they do something right, so you can prase them for a job done right. Last, but not least, stick to your sense of humour: if a Weimaraner disobeys a command, they do it with style!
